With the Zila Panchayat Elections scheduled for November 3, 2017, the State Election Commissioner visited a strong room in a government senior secondary school here. All the polling officers have been directed to send hourly reports with poll percentage on November 3, the polling day.
The sectoral magistrates have been delegated to the field for the next two days. Police have also been given directives to take charge of the security of the strong rooms and counting centres till the completion of the polling process. All teams on duty have been briefed about the counting procedure and appointment orders will be given on November 2 to all the personnel scheduled to be deputed for polling duty.
The district control room regarding any violation, if at all, has been set up in the respective four districts. In addition to this, police control rooms have been set up to receive complaints regarding any unlawful activities.
The State government has declared November 3, the polling day as a holiday for state government offices, educational institutions and public undertaking and two days closure of liquor shops.
