Ancient silk route gives a major boost to eco-tourism in Sikkim


Sikkim is known for its breathtaking scenic views and rich natural resources and the region is coined as one of the cleanest states in the northeast region.With beautifully curated by nature, the state houses some of the popular tourist destinations in the region and country at large. With the rise in tourist inflow, the state’s economy has also drastically improved in the last decade. Seeing the increasing number of visitors, the government is trying to add a new destination on Sikkim’s tourist map in the form of Jelep La Pass, which is at an altitude of 14, 000 feet and located between East Sikkim in India and Tibet in autonomous region of China.
